Trullo Monte Zuzzù
| Living in a trullo is a unique experience - little rooms
with a domed ceiling; conical roofs built out of blocks of white
calcareous stone, crowned by curious pinnacles of all different
shapes; metre-thick walls, either white or in warm colours, which
keep the inside cool during the heat of summer, but warm in winter;
recesses in the walls used for shelving and cupboard space; set
in pleasant age-old welcoming countryside, with an assortment of
seasonal fragrances. |

|
Monte Zuzzu is a charming typical three-coned
trullo, set in lush
countryside amid age-old olive groves and Mediterranean maquis
vegetation, with an outstanding panoramic view over the sea, just
7 km from the long sandy beaches that mark the bottom of the Adriatic
coast, 7 km from Cisternino and 15 km from Ostuni, the two of the
most enchanting towns in the Itria Valley.
Monte Zuzzù can give you the best of both worlds, combining
a peaceful relaxing holiday in the country and at the beach with
trips to some of the most interesting places in the area - Bari,
Castel del Monte, Trani, Alberobello, Lecce, and Otranto, not to
mention the delightful cities in the Itria Valley in the immediate
vicinity.
The trullo is built
on the side of a hill, and from the panoramic
terrace, you can enjoy some of the most unforgettable sunsets
of your life - we are sure that that will be one of your favourite
memories of Zuzzù. |

|
| In detail |
 |
Trullo Monte Zuzzù is in fact an ancient complex of trulli,
which has been completely refurbished in traditional style,
perfectly suited to the needs of the modern world.
It is made up of a living
room, with table and chairs, recesses and shelving, a twin sofa
bed and a clothes hook on the wall. |
| |
|
 |
From the living room, you get to the double bedroom through a delightful
little doorway, built into the wall, with recesses in the walls
acting as bedside tables and wardrobe, a wooden chest of drawers
which comes away to reveal a large recess where suitcases and other
bulky objects can be stored.
|
| |
|
 |
A characteristic archway leads from the living room to a small
kitchen
equipped with everything you will need.
Bathroom with running hot water and shower. |
| |
|
 |
On the outside, five steps lead up to a panoramic
terrace with a table, sunshades and sun loungers. |
| |
|
| Separate bedroom |
|
|
Next to the trullo is a so-called "lamia", a typical stone
construction with a "tortoiseshell" roof, which
has a double
bedroom with recesses, wardrobe, clothes hooks, washbasin
and toilet.
On the outside
there is a lovely terrace with furniture carved in stone,
shaded by thriving plants such as rosemary, caper and bay.
Hidden among the olive branches is an outside shower
