The menu at Monte Zuzzu

At Monte Zuzzu, you can order a special lunch or dinner. Rodolfo, the owner of the trullo, is a professional chef with over 20 years' experience. On request, he will provide you with some typically delicious dishes from the local Apulian cuisine.

There are three main menus, all of which can be customised according to your preferences and tastes - a fish menu, a meat menu and a vegetable menu.

All of the menus have the following:

Antipasti
  • Aubergines and sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil
  • Local cheeses: mozzarella, ricotta, pecorino
  • Salami: local capocollo from Martina Franca (an oak-smoked pork salami) and other sliced hams
  • Vegetable omelettes
Fresh fruit

Fresh vegetables
("barattieri" cucumbers, celery and carrots)

Home made sweets:
fruit flans and apple cakes. (Local rosolio: a sweet liqueur made from herbs or fruit hand-made by local experts)


Fish-based pasta and main courses
  • Baked dish of patate riso e cozze (rice, potatoes and mussels) or home-made cavatelli with shellfish
  • Baked fish (sea bream, gilthead bream or swordfish) and roast octopus
  • Mussels au gratin or Baked Octopus alla Luciana (depending on the time of year)

  • Home-made orecchiette with ragout sauce
  • Braciole (baked rolled meats)
  • Baked meat balls or local sausage

Vegetable-based pasta and main courses
  • Home-made cavatelli in fresh tomato sauce with ricotta dura cheese
  • Broad bean purée and chicory
  • Vegetables au gratin

Wines:

Local house wine € 3 per litre


The courses will be brought to the table on serving dishes. We will use the crockery, cutlery and table linen from the trullo.
